Our Story

Opening a bakery and an ice cream shop has been a dream of ours for over 15 years!!  Our goal is to put out an excellent product using local and mainly organic ingredients. Hence the name Baker & The Farmer. We also own a local Johns Island farm called Northern Roots and within the next few years we look to be self-sufficient as far as producing close to 100% of our ingredients. Having the farm allows us to give you the freshest ingredients without passing along the organic price tag. We plan to offer fresh made Northern as well as Southern treats.

Meet the Owners

Brian started his career in the culinary scene while he lived in Manhattan, NY. He bounced around a few hot spots and then worked at The Spotted Pig under chef April Bloomfield. He later relocated to Charleston,SC where he was Pastry Chef at High Cotton for three years, He then took a sous Chef Position at Edmund’s Oast for three years. Later on he decided with his Fiancé to open up their dream Bakery. After moving to Johns Island during the Summer of 16′ the two took their inspiration and desire to bring the island a place where people can come and enjoy a little something sweet and opened its doors August of 17′
